During the weekend of October 5-6, was held at Jarama (Madrid, Spain) the fifth scoring for the Spanish championship of Drift, also known as “Open Slalom Dirft”.
In this case besides the Amateur and Professional categories drift, had scheduled an extra in the contest, as also were to be held racing trucks, asphalt monsters known as “Truck Grand Prix.”
Alli was about to start the first day, when Fran and his Mazda RX7 FD3S were rolling with some mechanical problems but despite the difficulties, the end of the day they managed to finish in the top 4, qualifying directly for the semifinals the next day.
The second day, we had some good expectations, mechanical problems were solved and drift fights were to begin.
The result was one of the best made by Fran this season, third position in the PRO category.
A more than deserved podium for a big drifter whose experience and level must always be in the top …. we’ll see how we prepare the 2014 season, but a single turbo conversion, be good to fight the abundant bmw swaped to v8 and silvias with sr20det, RB25, RB26 and some ls.
Ability or power? Our boy’s skill, you’ll see what happens when the have the necessary power in next year with single turbo setup
This is the PRO category podium:
1-Oscar Lopez E30 M3 3.5 Turbo
2-Arnau Gomez S14A RB25DET
3-Fran Dengra Mazda RX7 FD3S
Here a few pictures of the GP trucks, behemoths of the road with a huge power, pure adrenaline
I would like to give my most heartfelt thanks to the people of Racing Shot Works for their assistance in the photographs taken at the Jarama circuit, good job.
